Green Heron, Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, June 3, 2006. The Heron in this photo was breaking dead twigs off of a Sycamore tree and building a nest in a nearby Willow tree along large pond. By June 5th this Heron had completed nest which consists entirely of dead Sycamore twigs/sticks. The nest is about 25 feet above the water surface on a branch overhanging the pond.
